Areas of Experience

A native Clevelander, Bill Dorer has over 20 years of experience working as in-house counsel for small and larger companies providing legal, human resources, and risk management services, working with and reporting to corporate management/ownership. In these roles, Bill works with all levels of business personnel, and, as a result, has developed sensitivity for the direct and critical impact that these roles have on any business.

Bill has functioned on both transactional and strategic levels, with direct “hands on” experience and responsibility for the day-to-day legal, personnel, and risk management issues faced by all businesses.  This experience and responsibility in the legal and business arenas has extended not only to advice and compliance functions to prevent problems, but also to litigation management in those instances where litigation cannot be avoided. In the human resources/personnel arena, this involvement has extended to direct responsibility for staffing, reorganizations and employee benefits restructuring and administration.  In the risk management arena, Bill has set up and run property and casualty programs and managed claims.

All of Bill’s unique legal and business background and experience enables him to provide discrete, professional support to business managers and owners so that their businesses can continue to grow and succeed at all levels.

Bill received his undergraduate degree in Speech and Political Science from Northwestern University and his law degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law.  He is licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio.
